Vets With A Mission completed funding of the new $108,000 Floyd Olsen Memorial Clinic in Hong Ha, Thua Thien Hue Province, with a $24,000 donation in June, 2011. The former FOMC was built by the humanitarian organization Viet Aid in 1996 through the generosity of friends and family of Captain Floyd Olsen, MIA, April 21, 1968. Vets With A Mission accepted responsibility for the FOMC after Viet Aid disbanded in 2005. The first FOMC structure had recently succumbed to the ravages of time and climate, and was in need of a major renovation. Subsequent studies and evaluations resulted in the proposal to build a new clinic to replace the existing structure, and not do a renovation. The construction of the new FOMC clinic was completed during the last week of July, and the interior of the structure will be finished by mid-August. It is scheduled to "open for business" by September 1, 2011. In February, 2012, a Vets With A Mission humanitarian medical team will visit the FOMC for one week. bestdissertation.com reviews
