The rest of my time from Xaun- Loc To Vinh-Long. Mostly the Delta. Thanks to units of the 9th Inf. for saving my ass more than once while in the field or on those easy to ambush convoys. Remember Thunder Road & QL-4? I lose alot of sleep stil over those days. Welcome home to all my brothers.

I was assigned to "B" Company 1st. Bn. 1st. Marine Reg. in Vietnam and was there on hill 48 when "Charlie" Company was hit on Hill 22 during the 27th. & 28th. of October 1965. To my recollection it was not Alpha Company. Who ever gave you that information is mis-informed. Check Marine records to verify.

I found this site whilst looking into Canadian involvement in the Vietnam war - the stuff I found was an eye-opener. I did not serve there but have served in Iraq briefly in 2003. When I came back I got involved with a service charity here in UK called Combat Stress and ran the USMC marathon for them last year. Good site, useful gen, happy to donate to this very good cause.

I am helping one of my best friends try to figure out just where all he was in Vietnam and frankly he doesn't remember much at all. He knows that the patch he wore was a blue heart. Some places he mentioned to me he was at over there are A Shau Valley, Da Lot, Rakkasan (a please forgive me is these aren't spelled correctly!). I do know he was in the Army and went to Vietnam in 1970. He did his basic at Fort Leonardwood.
His name is Johnny Long. If anyone can point me in the right direction and how I can find his information, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks.
