Does anyone remember US Naval personnel being assigned to NavSupFac Danang in early 1971? We were to train ARVN AF to install communication equipment in ARVN A-1 Sky Raiders
I was aboard USS Ranger, CVA-61 and took a flight into Vietnam on 'Double Nuts', I think the designation was C-1A, civilians now use them as tankers for firefighting and they are called S-2s.
Thanks for any/all replies.

My father, Howard Franklin Taylor, was in the army and served in the Vietnam War. I'm almost 27 years old and know very little about what he was like or what he did while he was there because he never talked about it. I assume this is because he is uncomfortable with it, so if anyone knew my father please email me.

Thank you for this site. I had a cousin who served in the marines, his name was Bernard Merle Shattuck, he died nov 6 1967, drowned while at a rest area. I was hoping maybe somebody might had known him. or was there when it happened. i was told by from a co-worker who remembers the currant sucked several soldiers under and the area was closed off. The death took place in the Quang Nam DMZ. I only knew bernard as a very young kid, he was nicked named BUN. I would like to hear from any of his fellow marines, maybe share some pictures they might have of him as a marine. I have no idea what unit he was assigned too. thanks for all and any help. And THANK YOU ALL who served in the Viet Nam. (ret army)

I feel very strongly about letting 'you' know how much all that you have experienced and endured during the time that we were at war and for so very long afterward, is now, and will always be, gratefully appreciated by me. You have not been forgotten and our world is a better place for that which you have done. May you know, and be, at peace in your body mind and Spirit. Thank you
