I just wanted to say, thank you veterans for all who have done. You are my hero's, my inspiration, my life. With out you this world would be so different you are important in so many ways. Thank you for putting your life on hold for me and the rest of the world. I appreciate it so much. I LOVE ALL OF YOU!! If it wasn't for you my life wouldn't be so wonderful today; I probably wouldn't get to experience all the things a teenager get's to experience. So thank you, you have made my life the way it is.

I was in and around Det.2, 30th weather Sqadron in and around Ton Son Nhut, Aug 64-65. My last order from my Squadron NCOIC was to be sure to get my bronze stars. I had to leave in a rush on a crippled c-130, 8 days early or wait another 1 1/2 months for the next seat on a commercial jet. All records of my duties and medical were destroyed.

Served in Chu Lai from July 68 to Jan 70.
23d Admin Co and Combat Center. I came home:
very angry, full of guilt and drug affected. I'm still angry. I have some agent orange symptoms and because of this Iraq thing a reoccurance of ptsd.
Looking for Bill Geovaniello, Bob Silver and Gary David. Thanks for the site, It dilutes the guilt.
I remember processing soldiers who tried to give me
their life insurance, grunts whose odds were very
low. Their wives and girlfriends had broken up with them before they came over, or they thought they were already cheating on them. I remember rocket alley and C130 crashes on that long runway. I can
still see graves registration, rats everywhere and the
saddest of all were grunts being turned away from the px cause they hadn't showered. I remember the
4-6 who drowned, 3 days in country, helos trying to pick them out of the water after they got sucked out
by the undertow. We found one 3 days later. Tanks lined up on the beach for a little r+r. grunts drying their socks on the exhaust. I remember mpc day, scores of vietnamese trying to trade their now useless currency for the latest version of military currency . We usually got hit after that. I remember "Flower" She lived in Bon Son ville and supplied lots of dope to the Americal.
The "high" I Corp they called it. I can't shake the
visions of firefights around Chu Lai in the hills and highlands, the inevitable dustoffs landing at the
312th, dropping off dead and wounded as we sat
underneath the helopad getting high, knowing the
morning would bring a list of records to be pulled, with a small photo in their 201 file and a description
of what killed or maimed them. To all you CIB vets
my praise and respect always. Thanks to all who visited this site to say thank you. Your words are much needed balm for still open wounds. Lastly,
I would never go back to someplace I can't leave.
