i am a student doing a world history research paper on the vietnam war. i chose the vietnam war thinking that it would be an easy subject to handle then it got harder because i am an american citizen and i can't use anything that has to do with th US side of the war it has to be a worldly research.

I am a school teacher and want to learn about the men who fought there, why this war was fought, andabout the country. I want to be able to educate the students with the right information, to instill pride and honor at having fought this war and to set right any misconceptions they might have.

I'm in the middle of reading In Love And War by Jim and Sybil Stockdale and was interested in finding out more about the war. I was born in 71 and didn't even know that there was a war during that time until Rambo came out.At the time of this writing the second gulf war is pretty much over and I am disgusted at the fact the our prime minister sat on the fence when our best allies went to work and got the job done.I actually felt pain at what some of the POW's went through and I don't know if I could go through the same with my sanity in tact.

Stationed 1965-66 U.S. Navy Hospital, Da Nang fresh out of my residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Our core MD/DDS group included besides myself, General Surgery (2), Anesthesiology (2), Neurosurgery (1), Internal Medicine (2), GP (4), DDS (2), and a special hematology group from Mass General. Most of us were not career Navy and this would have been our first duty station. It was a great surgical team that was ready to leave when the year was up. This is the first time I have visited a Viet Nam site since I left. That is an interesting comment in itself. Now retired, teaching part-time @ Loma Linda Med Ctr.
